24 Hour Comic Day
http://24hourcomics.com/

I wanna try this...o_o It sounds impossible, but trying is better than not trying. Especially if you're trying to procrastinate on homework.

Kaori Yuki
One of my favorite artists is Kaori Yuki. She actually has a website, which I was thrilled to find the other day.

http://www.yukikaori.jp/

Kaori Yuki is a manga-ka, or an author/artist of a graphic novel series. She's done quite a number of works, and has several published art books available some even available in America, including Angel Cage, which I really really want but it's too expensive.T_T I started collecting her most famous work available in America, Angel Sanctuary, way back when I was just starting high school. She has a way with ink, and from what I hear, she did it all by hand, from scraping the screentones to inking her pencil lines; of course, she has assistants(there's no way she could've done her work otherwise), but her style and detail work stays consistant throughout. You can usually find her latest manga in the monthly(or weekly, I believe it's monthly, though) Japanese manga compilation magazine Hana to Yume, and you can find translated versions of her work in places like Borders and Barnes and Noble.

I want that art book so badly...alas, poor wallet...T_T

I claim this virgin blog in the name of the queen!
First off, the question of where Smoked Cheese came from(apart from a cow). If that doesn't help, that's what Wikipedia's for. Explaination done.

I'm currently working on a contest entry for the official Snafu-Bleedman art forum "Challenge Yourself" art contest. The theme is collaborations, so I'm working with this one guy from the roleplaying forums. Somehow I need to squeeze in the time to finish this thing, though. I'm doing the inking and coloring, he did the concept and will do final touch-ups after I'm done with my part.

There's the craptastic rough copy, with a quick color comp done in photoshop. Yes, those are glowing blue ghostie swords. Yes, that girl in the back is summoning a tornado.

We went to NYC last week. I didn't take as many pictures as I did in my freshman year of college, but I didn't really need to. Living in New York Jr., otherwise known as New Jersey, has its advantages. Also, I have a collection of 300-something photos of the Metropolitian Museum of Art, Central Park, and various other diddlies in exotic NYC. I stayed behind to go back to NJ for the weekend, since my aunt and uncle were visiting from India. Can you guess what I did that whole weekend? Protip: I played the first GU game.

Yes, he's a guy.

Getting back into the .hack games made me want to start playing MMORPGs again, so I recently started leveling up my swordsman in Tales of Pirates(ToP is the acronym I'll be using). Actually, the game was originally called Pirate King Online, the acronym of which was far more badass. PKO...sounds like Player Killing Online. Fun times ahoy!:D Anyway, my swordsman's level 31 now, almost 32. I'm a little slow when it comes to leveling. I blame the fact that I was trying to figure out how I mine for fish. Now, the whole point of this is that I did a few yonkoma(otherwise known as 4koma, or 4 panel vertical comic strips) of my adventures in Pirate-land. I'll post them in another post, so I don't screw up the labeling system more than I already have with this virgin post.

Speaking of 4koma, I did a few out of boredom recently.

That should be enough for now. I'll do a few art dumps throughout the week.
